Tom & Hills

”What kind of Scandinavian music are you enthustiastic about right now?” – ”Tom & Hills, They are from Finland” – Major Lazer

It’s fair to say that Tom & Hills are one of the most interesting electronic music acts of Scandinavia. The guys make all their productions with care, using only highly talented topliners as they are grinding their production to the top while walking the extra mile to find the best remixers for their originals.

Tom & Hills consists of 22 year old Tom, who is a professional sound designer, as well as a respected producer in Finland. Tom works for renowned producer JS16 (Producer of Darude’s Sandstorm) as well as work for several Finnish gold sold artist. Hills is 42 a year old award winning television professional who started his musical career with classical instruments when he was 7 years old, living in the remote side of eastern Finland. There was nothing else to do but creating music and snowboarding, which resulted in Hills honing his production crafts to perfection.  Before Tom & Hills saw light of day, Hills was producing synthwave, which currently reflects in their productions as well.

The guys share their interest for early 80’s electronic sounds, but with their 20 years difference in age they maintain the ability to create that “unique sound that is a clear blend of new school and old school”, which they like to refer it themselves.

The duo signed their single ”No Brakes” to Universal Finland and the topliner, Lauri Ylönen, who is the lead singer of multimillion sold band: The Rasmus. Lauri mentioned that he never did any feature work on music before he ventured into the adventure with Tom & Hills to create ”No Brakes”.

After this successful beginning, the guys got contacted by Troi (Def Jam Records), who is an L.A based singer-songwriter. Troi had heard the duo’s special tunes and was eager to work together. The decision to cooperate was easy when Tom & Hills heard Troi’s soulful voice. Several months later “Lighters” saw light of day. ”Lighters”, released by Universal Music in spring 2015, went on UK’s Upfront chart to #6 and on UK Club Breakers chart #4 and also stayed there for several weeks. Lighters also appeared on blogs like Dancing Astronaut and Earmilk, resulting Hypem #1 position.

“Lighters” and “Digital Love” gave Tom & Hills a double entry to Buzz Chart TOP 20. As 2015 turned out to be a good year for the guys building platform, Tom & Hills made a remix for NERVO feat Kylie Minoque, Jake Shears and Nile Rodgers. Their next single, ”Energy in Magic”, featured Jared Lee, a true professional, songwriter and singer who worked with names like New Kids On the Block, Fedde Le Grand and Jason Derulo.

November 2016 Tom & Hills can be a proud owner of ‘Gold Record Status for their track: “Energy In Magic”. “Energy In Magic, including remixes from Erick Morillo and Wally Lopez, is currently on over 4,5 million Spotify plays and was supported by a huge amount of tastemakers around the world.

Tom & Hills are kicked off the year 2017 with a brand new original called “Lies”, which has been co-written with Sandro Cavazza who is known for his work with Avicii. Vocals come from Cosmos who is one half of Cosmos & Creature, who themselves have gained over 10 million streams and featured with Vicetone and Lost Kings in 2016. Kiss FM UK loved the track so much, that they played it immediately when they got their hands on it, three weeks before the release.

“Another Chance” is the record stat is currently causing a stir in the music industry as the record is a huge hit in Italy. “Another Chance” is A-listed on over 40 big Italian stations, and peaked at #2 on the Italian House Chart. Thus the boys Shazam followers has reached almost 260 000. Another Chance was in Airplay TOP 100 Dance in Italy, making it one of the most played tracks in Italian radios 2017.

During the year 2017 has released tracks from labels like Sirup Music and Armada, which released their collaboration with Italian star Leandro Da Silva and Jutty Ranx hailing from LA.
