Michael Tyler is Songwriter of the Year!

Tijdens de SESAC Nashville Awards is CTM-schrijver Michael Tyler verkozen tot Songwriter of the Year.

Tijdens de jaarlijkse award show in de Country Music Hall of Fame worden de grootste country- en Americana-songs van het afgelopen jaar geëerd. Meer dan 500 songwriters, uitgevers en muziekprofessionals wonen het event bij.

SESAC’s Senior Vice President Shannan Hatch maakte bekend dat Michael Tyler Songwriter of The Year is geworden. Tyler kreeg drie awards voor zijn nummers: “Cowboy Songs” (George Birge), “Holy Smokes” (Bailey Zimmerman) en “This Heart” (Corey Kent).

“Thank you to my beautiful wife standing around over here”, zei Tyler op het podium. “Thank you for the sacrifice you make every day. When I go write a song and I go on bus runs Wednesday through Sunday, then I go on a writer’s retreat right after while you’re home with our two little boys and another one on the way, you’re my hero and I love you.”
