Tariq Pijning

In a short period of time, multi-instrumentalist Tariq Pijning has established himself worldwide as a highly sought-after saxophonist in the Pop and Dance industry. He has collaborated with dance heavyweights such as Kygo, Sam Feldt and KSHMR, and has shared the stage with icons such as Ms. Lauryn Hill. Having built an impressive career at a rapid pace, Tariq has become a respected and established name in the international music scene.

Tariq also plays a key role in De Nachtwacht, the band project of Jiri Taihuttu, where he performs on both piano and saxophone. On January 9, the band released its debut album, De Nachtwacht. The first singles, including Huis van Zwart en Rood and Cowboys, received widespread praise and were highlighted by well-known Dutch personalities such as Arjen Lubach, Hans Klok, Bente, Achmed Akkabi and Maarten van Rossem.

Since then, De Nachtwacht has been confirmed for major festivals including Eurosonic Noorderslag, Paaspop and Down The Rabbit Hole, alongside numerous other festivals and venues. With a rapidly growing reputation as a live act and a distinctive artistic identity, the band is already regarded as one of the most promising new acts in the Netherlands.
