ML

ML, the initials for Maria-Laetitia Mattern, is one of the pillars of Sonnfjord, a rhythmic pop trio she founded with her brother Aurelio Mattern and their friend François de Moffaerts in their hometown of Brussels. Alongside Sonnfjord, ML has now started her solo project. She is transitioning from English to French, her native language, to express her truest self and convey intimacy and doubts in her own tongue.

She aims to write what she thinks, not in the most direct way, but simply, wrapped in poetry, with a sharp edge and a strong sense of melody.

In 2022, she released her first EP, Changé, featuring a beautiful duet with Flore Benguigui on the title track. A year later, in 2023, her debut album Ailleurs n’existe pas was released, offering a delightful mix of energy and playful lyrics.
