Matthijn Buwalda
Matthijn Buwalda (September 6, 1983) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. Growing up in a church where bands were on stage every Sunday, his love for music was quickly born. He started teaching himself the piano and guitar and over time he started writing songs.
After studying law for a few years, Matthijn opted for music. His specialty is writing Dutch texts and he can come up with hooks that stay in your head!
Matthijn wrote with, among others, Stef Bos, Jan Smit and co-wrote ‘No one can take this from us anymore.’ This is the title song of the film ‘Achtste groepers huilen niet’, which was nominated for a Rembrandt Award and has more than 10 million streams.
