Matt Chiarelli
Matt Chiarelli is a Los Angeles-based songwriter, producer, and engineer whose career spans performance, record production, and film composition. Raised in the New York music scene, he spent his formative years playing in bands before stepping into the role of touring musician for The Pretty Reckless (Interscope Records), Just Kait (MTV/Wright Entertainment Group), and Zander Bleck (Interscope Records) — a run that sharpened both his instincts as a performer and his ear as a collaborator.
His early work on the production side yielded immediate results. As co-writer and co-producer on Zander Bleck’s Mercy Me, he made his Billboard debut, with the track entering the Indicator Charts at #39. Most recently, he co-wrote and co-produced Dutch rock band Kensington’s 2025 album First Rodeo, including “A Moment” and “Stay,” the latter of which spent 23 weeks on the Dutch Top 40 and peaked at #13. The album debuted at #1 on the Dutch Top 40 Album Charts and went on to win the Edison Pop Award for Best Rock Album 2026.
As one half of production duo 528XO alongside collaborator Stephen Schofield, he has built a parallel body of work in brand and film composition — with credits spanning Tommy Hilfiger, DSW, The Kooples, Flaunt Magazine, the 2021 feature 1800-Hotnite, and the short film Flesh and Blood.
Matt is currently developing two artist projects set for release this year: DROVVN, a lush and atmospheric shoegaze collaboration with Stephen Schofield, and Stephen’s artist project NORSWRTHY, which blends dark indie slowcore with Southern gothic and gospel-inspired influences.
