Jan Smit

Johannes Hendricus Maria (Jan) Smit (Volendam, December 31, 1985) is a Dutch singer, presenter, composer, lyricist, actor, and administrator.

Smit is one of the most popular singers in the Netherlands. He is also successful in countries outside his own, including Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. He is a member of De Toppers and the Schlager trio KLUBBB3. As a presenter, he is best known for programs like “Beste Zangers,” “Sterren Muziekfeest op het Plein,” “Het Nationaal Songfestival,” and the “Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala.”

Since 2011, he has been highly involved with the Eurovision Song Contest, serving on the Dutch selection committee and the professional jury. Additionally, he provides Dutch commentary on behalf of AVROTROS. Since July 1, 2022, he has been the chairman of FC Volendam.
