Ingrid Mank
Ingrid was born and raised in Leiden. After graduating as a singer from the Rotterdam Conservatory, she formed the band Indigo with Daniëlle Mulder, reaching the top 20 of the Dutch pop charts with the single Give Love a Try.
In 1999, she moved to Belgium and began performing as a backing vocalist with numerous artists, including Zap Mama, Clouseau, and Night of the Proms.
From that point on, she started writing songs. She wrote lyrics for the Belgian band Clouseau (EMI), which sold over 100,000 copies, contributed two tracks to Sarah’s album Found My Space, and had several songs on Mozaïek’s new album. In 2003, she co-wrote the hit single You Are the Reason with Ronald Seerden for EMI artists Sarah and Koen Wauters, which stayed at number one in the Belgian pop charts for 13 weeks.
In 2004, she co-wrote a song on the platinum album Back for More for pop idol Natalia and contributed lyrics for another Clouseau track.
In 2005, Slovak pop idol Martina Schindlerová recorded three songs co-written by Ingrid, reaching number one and achieving gold status in just four days. In 2006, Ingrid began co-writing with her husband/producer Hans Francken, Janice Robinson (US), and Peter Vetesse (UK). She co-wrote a song for X-Factor winner Udo and had a song in the finals of the Dutch National Song Contest, produced by Nick Manic’s team (Sweden). Debut artist ReBorn (ARS label) achieved a top 10 hit with his first single Fools Rush In, co-written by Ingrid and Hans, and a top 10 spot in Japan’s airplay charts.
She co-wrote the title track Verhaal van ons for the biggest Belgian film Windkracht 10, performed by pop idol Sandrine (SonyBMG). In 2007, she co-wrote a song for Idols winner Dean, which reached #2 on the charts.
In 2011, Ingrid started working as a vocal and performance coach for Idols. She wrote the song More to Me for the 10 finalists, which reached #1 and stayed there for five weeks.
From 2012 onwards, Ingrid worked as a vocal coach for The Voice and The Voice Kids, where she also wrote for TV series and artists released through FruityLABEL. One of their successes was Emma Bale.
In addition, she continued writing songs for Clouseau on their album Clouseau danst (including Onvoorwaardelijk wij, Ziel, and Vogel voor de kat) and remains active writing for TV shows and artists such as Stan Van Samang, Emma Bale, and Laura Tesoro.
